Off Duty, Not Off the Hook!
In this session we will explore off duty misconduct and the legal implications surrounding them. Off duty conduct could include criminal behavior, social media activity, community conflict, political activities, moonlighting, etc. When can an employer address off duty behavior? When should we look the other way?
Speaker Bio: Kristi Hastings
Kristi Hastings is a partner at the Fergus Falls office of Pemberton Law, and her practice areas include representing public entities (school, city, and county employers), handling complex employment litigation, human resources support, negotiating collective bargaining agreements on behalf of public employers, defending public entities in litigation matters, as well as handling the myriad of issues that face public employers on a daily basis.
Kristi is a Board-Certified Labor and Employment Law Specialist by the Minnesota State Bar Association. Less than two percent of Minnesota attorneys have received this certification. Kristi earned her specialization in March 2012 and has extensive experience and training in employment law. She has been named a Super Lawyer every year from 2014 to 2024. Kristi also earned her certification as a Civil Rights Investigator through ATIXA in 2021.
