Lead with Change--Transforming How Health Care is Paid for and Delivered including Chronic Care and Specialty Drugs

Kathleen is a consultant with over 25 years of experience bringing strategic solutions to her clients in a variety of industries.  In her role, Kathleen has accountability to work with clients to develop and implement leading edge benefit strategies with a focus on consumerism, trend mitigation and employee engagement.  Kathleen is tasked with marketing client benefit plans and negotiating on behalf of her clients to bring together value and best-in-class vendor services and solutions. 

The session combines results of the Aon Consumer Mindset Study and the Aon Employer Health & Benefits Annual Survey to show the challenges the average employee faces when confronted with chronic conditions in terms of cost, quality and care from the health plan member’s perspective along with employee and plan sponsor employer views around the changing landscape of health care delivery.  Further, we explore the different challenges, solutions and opportunities for the employer plan sponsor in this rapidly changing landscape with the goal of understanding how to balance the employee experience with cost control for the organization.
 

Human Resources professionals have been thrust even further into the complexity of health care with the passage of the Affordable Care Act.  The advent of double digit health care trend increases year-over-year has placed tremendous challenges on HR staffs.  The ability to have a positive impact on the effectiveness and cost of the organizational health programs is of critical importance to HR and benefit professionals.  Understanding the changes in the care delivery system and how to best mange it is not only good for employees, but critical to the employer organization’s bottom line.
